Spring Clean Up Notice

This is a quick reminder to everyone that Spring Clean up will start on Monday April 24, 2017.
Items will be collected on same day as regular waste.
Items must be placed by roadside not later than 7:00 a.m. on Collection Day.

Appliances
Windows
Mirrors
Construction and Demolition Debris

ITEMS NOT PERMITTED
Household Waste
Recyclable Materials
Tires
Paint
Petroleum Products
Hazardous Waste
Car Parts

Wood must be tied in bundles. Items must not weigh more than 70 kgs or be longer than 3 meters.
Please ensure items are properly prepared for collection, if not they may be rejected.

Summer Employment Opportunity - Litter Clean Up & Grounds Maintenance

Resumes are being accepted for two student positions in the Property Services Department. Duties and responsibilities of these positions will involve litter clean up and general grounds maintenance.

- One position is for 15 weeks commencing May 8, 2017, for 35 hours per week.

- One position is for 8 weeks commencing July 3, for 35 hours per week.

Applicants must be enrolled in an educational institution and must be returning to school in the Fall.

Piping Plover Technician – Barrington/ Shelburne area, NS

Bird Studies Canada is seeking student candidates for the position of Piping Plover Technician based out of Shelburne County, NS ($12.25/hr; 12-13 wks starting early May). This position offers outstanding experiences in field biology, wildlife/habitat management, species at risk recovery and stewardship, educational outreach and collaborating with conservation partners. The Piping Plover Technician is part of a dynamic team of staff, volunteers and partners working to monitor and protect breeding Piping Plovers and foster stewardship on southwest NS beaches
