Sou’West Nova Transit Association
The Sou'West Nova Transit Association was formed in 2009 with the understanding that access to transportation doesn't just benefit individual clients; it benefits the County as a whole. In small communities like ours, affordable public transportation a vital part of keeping us all connected. The service was officially launched in September of 2012.
Who Can Use SWNT Programs?
While we will strive to provide services to any Shelburne County resident who requests them, our priority is individuals who have a barrier to gaining affordable, reliable transportation. This barrier could be one or a combination of the following:
- Economic – The rider does not have financial means to purchase, insure, or fuel a vehicle of their own, or to pay for other forms of public transportation
- Age-related – The rider is over 65
- Medical/Mobility – The rider has a physical barrier that makes it difficult or impossible to safely operate a vehicle
- Isolation – The rider does not have a support system of friends or family to consistently help meet transportation needs
