BY-LAW NO. 40 “A By-law Respecting the Maintenance and Improvement of Barrington Lake Road”

In accordance with Section 169 of the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that the Barrington Municipal Council at their meeting held May 28, 2024, gave second and final reading to the adoption of By-law No. 40—A By-law Respecting the Maintenance and Improvement of Barrington Lake Road.

The by-law allows for changes to the “Charge Area” by removing the map and making changes to the Charge Area definition. The new definition requires the Association to provide a list of approved properties located in the “Charge Area”.

The Terms of Reference for the AAC were recently amended to include a dedicated position for a student on the Committee.

At least one half of the committee’s membership must have a disability or represent an organization that represents people with disabilities. A disability includes a physical, mental intellectual, learning or sensory impairment including an episodic disability—that, in interaction with a barrier, hinders an individual’s full and effective participation in society.

The purpose of the AAC is to provide advice to Council on identifying, preventing and eliminating barriers to people with disabilities in municipal programs, services, initiatives and facilities.

Volunteer Nomination web image During Volunteer Week, April 14-20,2024, we celebrate VOLUNTEERS! Our community is built on the service provided by all the people who give their time, expertise and caring to others. Thank you!

The Town of Clark's Harbour, and the Municipality of Barrington are seeking nominations to recognize those people in our area who have contributed in our community over the past year. Please forward nominations by May 8th to ensure they will be included in the selection of our municipal representative to a very special provincial recognition event on September 18th. All nominated volunteers will also be celebrated at a local event in September.

When filling out the nomination form, please list your nominee's past and present volunteer work. Please be as detailed as you can, as the information you provide will be read at our Municipal Volunteer Recognition Ceremony in September.

To ensure your nominee will be considered for the Provincial Volunteer Representative, please return your nomination form to the Recreation Department by Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
