There are several recreational facilities and sports fields within our municipality. If you are interested in booking any of them, please contact us to ensure that there are no other scheduled activities going on there.

There are two halls available to rent, the fees are as follows:
Businesses that wish to use the facility for a meeting, may do so at the rate of $60 plus HST
Private instructors renting the facility to offer programs, including exercise classes, will be charged a rental fee of $90.00, plus HST per session. Insurance coverage for such rentals shall be required including a Certificate of Insurance listing the Municipality of Barrington as ‘ Additional Insured’. The Certificate of Insurance shall be provided to the recreation director prior to the first class being held.
Those who wish to use the facility for fundraising events such as dances, etc., or private events, will pay a rental fee of $180.00, plus HST, for the day or evening. Fundraising events sponsored by local non profit community groups, not including serving of alcohol, will be subject to a rental fee of $60.00 a day.
Individuals who wish to use the facility for private hall rentals, ie. birthday parties, wedding or baby showers, etc., may do so at the rate of $30.00 plus HST.

The tennis court, located on Sherose Island, beside the Recreation Centre, is an outdoor court with a clay surface.
The Tennis Court is open to use at any time and is free to use.

The Barrington Municipal Playground is located next to the recreation centre, located on Sherose Island. The playground is a great place for children of all ages to enjoy, and has a bench and a picnic table on site.
We also have playgrounds located at the South Side Ball field and on Brass Hill.
This facility is operated by the Barrington Regional Curling Club. The rink consists of 4 sheets of ice, a lounge area, 2 change rooms, and 2 washrooms.

The nature trail is located on Sherose Island and access to the trail is at the end of the Arena parking lot. (nearest civic address: 12 Park Lane, Barrington NS)
