The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the senior administrative officer of the municipality, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensuring the effective implementation of policies set by Council. The CAO works closely with elected officials and municipal staff to coordinate and manage services, resources, and projects that support the community’s growth and well-being.

Chris FrottenSince 2018, Chris has been serving as the CAO of the Municipality, where he leads the day-to-day operations and supports the implementation of policies set by Council.
Prior to joining the Municipality, Chris worked at the Municipality of Argyle as Deputy Clerk and Clerk.
Chris' formal education includes a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and a Bachelor of Education, and he has furthered his education with the Dalhouse University College of Continuing Education and the Association of Municipal Administrators of Nova Scotia (AMANS), obtaining an Executive Certificate in Local Government.
With a strong background in municipal administration, Chris has extensive experience in managing municipal services, overseeing projects, and fostering community engagement.
As CAO, Chris works closely with both staff and council to ensure efficient, responsive services and the successful achievement of the Municipality's long-term goals. He is dedicated to maintaining open communication with residents and promoting the continued growth and development of the municipality while preserving its unique character.
