FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  Water Concerns - Summer of 2018

The Municipality of the District of Barrington has heard from several residents who are dealing with a lack of water due to the dry conditions that we have been facing this summer. Although the Municipality does not provide or have access to, a registered water source, arrangements have been made to provide the following to assist those in need:

- Showers are available at the Sandy Wickens Memorial Arena - Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, at the present time.

- Washers will be available for use, effective August 20, 2018, at the Barrington Ground Search and Rescue Building, in Barrington Passage - Monday to Friday 5 pm to 9 pm

- Non-Potable water supply is available at Sherose Island.  This water is not safe for drinking.

Council is seeking help from other sources to maintain a potable water supply should our situation worsen.

Council and staff would ask that you check on your friends and neighbours, especially those most vulnerable, to ensure that everyone is finding access to drinking water.
