JUNIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR / BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The Municipality of Barrington is now accepting applications for an experienced, enthusiastic, and career-minded person to fill the role of Junior Building Inspector/By-law Enforcement Officer.

The Junior Building Inspector/By-law Enforcement Officer is responsible to assist the Building Inspector to perform technical inspection duties, permitting and enforcement of building codes, fire codes, regulations, municipal by-laws and policies. They will also enforce all municipal bylaws pertaining to land use, animals, property maintenance, garbage and noise.

The ideal candidate would have a post-secondary education in construction management, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or a construction design and previous experience in construction, building inspection or by-law enforcement.
The Junior Building Inspector/By-law Enforcement Officer will work toward becoming a qualified Building Official through the Nova Scotia Building Code Training & Certification Board.
